Community Midwives

Catherine McAlinden District Midwife Team Leader

The midwifery team  look after women during and after pregnancy and can be accessed on a Friday morning by appointment.

Community Nurses

The nurses visit the homes of patients who are housebound. Some examples of their work are taking bloods, dressing wounds / ulcers, assessing patients needs (e.g. equipment or extra care needed) and they are invaluable in the care of people with a terminal illness.

Carmel McLoughlin  Camlough Area

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Catherine can be seen at the Tuesday morning vaccination and child health surveillance clinic or contacted directly at John Mitchel Place Tel : 30834200.

Carmel can be seen at Camlough on Wednesday morning or contacted directly at Bessbrook Health Centre Tel : 30830291.
