The pharmacists regularly deal with repeat prescription requests, hospital letters and medication queries from other healthcare workers and patients. Our pharmacists are prescribers and can run blood pressure clinics, contraception clinics and anticoagulation reviews, and have also been helping us in our vaccination campaigns. They ensure that medications are prescribed safely and cost effectively, ensuring that high quality standards are achieved

Community Midwives

The midwifery team look after women during and after pregnancy and can be accessed on a Friday morning by appointment.

Community Nurses

The nurses visit the homes of patients who are housebound. Some examples of their work are taking bloods, dressing wounds / ulcers, assessing patients needs (e.g. equipment or extra care needed) and they are invaluable in the care of people with a terminal illness.

Shona O'Hanlon Health Visitor 

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Elizabeth or Shona can be seen at the Monday morning vaccination and child health surveillance clinic or contacted directly at John Mitchel Place Tel : 30834200.
